Engineering Internship

Indianapolis, IN $18.50/HR Contract

Overview:
This internship provides hands-on exposure to engineering, facility operations, and reliability in a real-world industrial environment. Under the guidance of the Engineering & Reliability Leader, you will support engineering requests, assist in data gathering, and gain valuable project management and facility maintenance experience.

Job Responsibilities

  • Follow all site safety policies and procedures while maintaining compliance with established safety standards.
  • Safely navigate the facility, including climbing ladders and working in hot or cold environments, while wearing required PPE at all times.
  • Actively participate in safety programs, audits, and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Tag and document serviceable assets across systems to maintain accurate equipment records.
  • Complete data capture forms for equipment and system updates as needed.
  • Utilize Computerized Maintenance Management Software (CMMS) to enter, track, and update asset information for future maintenance activities.
  • Support engineers in developing and updating CAD drawings for small projects and modifications.
  • Maintain and organize Operations & Maintenance (O&M) manuals and the as-built drawing library.
  • Verify equipment and process data in the field to ensure engineering documentation accuracy and completeness.

Job Qualifications:

  • Current enrollment in a B.S. Engineering program (Mechanical, Chemical, Electrical, or related discipline).
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office and working knowledge of CAD software.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with diverse teams, including maintenance, operations, management, and R&D staff.
  • Problem-solving mindset with the ability to apply classroom learning to real-world challenges.
