Maintenance Electrician

Key Responsibilities

• Perform preventive and corrective maintenance on medium- and low-voltage electrical systems, including 480V equipment, switchgear, circuit breakers, motor starters, transformers, and related electrical components.
• Inspect, troubleshoot, diagnose, and repair electrical distribution equipment to minimize equipment downtime.
• Install, modify, and commission new electrical equipment and infrastructure.
• Maintain and troubleshoot motor control centers (MCCs), variable frequency drives (VFDs), programmable logic controllers (PLCs), and associated control systems.
• Perform preventive and corrective maintenance on process instrumentation, including pressure, temperature, flow, level, and control valve instrumentation.
• Diagnose instrumentation failures and perform repairs, calibrations, and replacements as needed.
• Read and interpret electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, loop drawings, and P&IDs.
• Support maintenance activities across facility utility systems such as purified water, compressed air, steam, chilled water, HVAC, glycol, and other critical plant utilities.
• Complete maintenance documentation accurately using Good Documentation Practices (GDP/ALCOA+) and computerized maintenance management systems (CMMS).
• Work collaboratively with maintenance, engineering, operations, and reliability teams to improve equipment performance.
• Follow all site safety procedures, environmental regulations, and current Good Manufacturing Practices (cGMP).

Required Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED.
• Experience maintaining industrial electrical systems in a manufacturing, pharmaceutical, food & beverage, chemical, or similar industrial environment.
• Experience working with 480V electrical systems and electrical distribution equipment.
• Ability to troubleshoot electrical and instrumentation systems independently.
• Experience reading electrical schematics and P&ID drawings.
• Strong understanding of industrial safety practices including Lockout/Tagout (LOTO).
• Must be authorized to work in the United States.

Preferred Qualifications

• Associate degree or technical certification in Electrical Technology, Instrumentation, Industrial Maintenance, or a related field.
• Experience with medium-voltage switchgear, motor control centers, VFDs, PLCs, and industrial control systems.
• Experience installing and troubleshooting process instrumentation.
• Familiarity with CMMS software such as Maximo, SAP PM, Fiix, UpKeep, or similar maintenance management systems.
• Knowledge of GMP manufacturing environments and documentation requirements.
• Working knowledge of Microsoft Office applications.
• Strong mechanical aptitude with the ability to assist across multiple maintenance disciplines.

Work Environment

• Manufacturing and utility plant environment requiring compliance with safety, environmental, and GMP regulations.
• Exposure to industrial utility systems including steam, compressed air, chilled water, chemicals, high temperatures, and pressurized systems.
• Work may involve climbing ladders, working from elevated platforms, confined spaces, and lifting up to 40 pounds.
• Occasional overtime, shift coverage, weekend work, and on-call responsibilities may be required to support plant operations.
