Responsibilities
Analyze manufacturing cost variances and identify root causes.
Develop and maintain cost accounting systems, records, and documentation.
Prepare cost analysis reports comparing standard and actual production costs.
Lead product costing activities for new and existing products.
Conduct internal cost audits and ensure compliance with accounting standards.
Evaluate manufacturing cost trends and recommend cost-saving initiatives.
Review and reconcile inventory accounts, investigate variances, and support inventory reserve analysis.
Prepare month-end journal entries and support financial close activities.
Perform cost-benefit analyses and financial modeling to support business decisions.
Assist with budgeting, forecasting, and annual financial audits.
Analyze inventory levels, excess and obsolete inventory, and cash optimization opportunities.
Collaborate with Operations and Supply Chain teams to improve cost accuracy and inventory controls.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field; CPA or CMA preferred.
5+ years of cost accounting experience in a manufacturing environment.
Strong knowledge of cost accounting principles, inventory management, and financial reporting.
Experience with standard costing, variance analysis, budgeting, and forecasting.
Proficiency with ERP systems (Dynamics 365 preferred) and advanced Microsoft Excel skills.
Working knowledge of GAAP and internal control practices.
Strong analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
Excellent communication skills with the ability to work cross-functionally.
Detail-oriented with the ability to interpret complex financial data and provide actionable recommendations.
