Senior Field Service Engineer

Indianapolis $85,000 - $95,000 weekly Permanent

Responsibilities

  • Provide on-site technical support, installation, commissioning, and maintenance of process and utility systems used in pharmaceutical and biotech manufacturing environments.

  • Perform troubleshooting, calibration, and performance verification on automated and mechanical systems, including pumps, valves, instrumentation, and filtration components.

  • Execute preventive maintenance programs and corrective repairs to ensure consistent equipment reliability and system uptime.

  • Conduct system startups, FAT/SAT activities, and qualification support, ensuring compliance with customer specifications and regulatory standards.

  • Interface directly with customers to provide technical guidance, training, and post-installation support, ensuring high levels of satisfaction.

  • Collaborate with internal engineering and project management teams to review system performance, recommend upgrades, and implement design improvements.

  • Prepare detailed service documentation, including field reports, calibration records, and recommended actions for system optimization.

  • Support adherence to GMP, safety, and quality standards, maintaining a professional and compliant service presence at all times.

  • Travel to client sites domestically as required to support installation and service schedules.

Qualifications

  • Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Chemical, or Automation Engineering, or equivalent technical training.

  • 5+ years of field service experience supporting automated or process utility systems in regulated industries (pharma, biotech, or water treatment preferred).

  • Strong understanding of mechanical, electrical, and instrumentation systems, including pumps, valves, sensors, and PLC-based controls.

  • Experience with commissioning, startup, and validation of process or utility systems.

  • Knowledge of GMP principles, technical documentation, and service reporting.

  • Ability to read and interpret P&IDs, wiring diagrams, and system schematics.

  • Excellent troubleshooting, communication, and customer interaction skills.

  • Comfortable with frequent travel and hands-on work in a field environment.
