Industrial Engineer

Indianapolis $45-55 p/h Contract

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform detailed time studies to establish standard operating times and identify performance gaps.

  • Conduct line balancing and layout reviews to improve flow and utilization of labor and equipment.

  • Analyze data from production systems to identify bottlenecks, capacity constraints, and opportunities for improvement.

  • Develop process documentation, standard work instructions, and visual management tools to support manufacturing teams.

  • Partner with production and engineering to evaluate process changes, automation upgrades, and new equipment introductions.

  • Participate in continuous improvement projects using Lean and Six Sigma methodologies.

  • Provide recommendations to enhance safety, quality, and productivity across production lines.

  • Support project implementation, monitor results, and adjust as needed to sustain gains.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Industrial Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, or related field.

  • 3+ years of experience in a manufacturing or process engineering environment (medical device or precision machining preferred).

  • Strong analytical skills with experience in time studies, takt time analysis, and workflow optimization.

  • Proficiency in AutoCAD or similar layout/design software.

  • Experience with ERP/MRP systems (e.g., Epicor, SAP) preferred.

  • Working knowledge of Lean Manufacturing and Six Sigma tools (Green Belt or higher a plus).

  • Excellent communication, organization, and cross-functional collaboration skills.
