PLC Programmer

Job Overview:

We are seeking a skilled PLC Programmer with strong expertise in Siemens automation platforms, particularly TIA Portal and S7-1500 PLCs. This role focuses on designing, programming, and troubleshooting automated control systems within a manufacturing or industrial environment. The ideal candidate will support the development and integration of PLC, HMI, and motion control solutions to ensure reliable and efficient plant operations. Success in this role requires strong technical knowledge of industrial automation, electrical systems, and control system integration.


Job Responsibilities:

  • Develop, configure, and troubleshoot Siemens PLC programs using TIA Portal
  • Implement and test control logic for motors, conveyors, drives, and related plant equipment
  • Program and configure HMIs and motion control systems
  • Interpret electrical and electronic schematics to support proper wiring and system functionality
  • Perform system testing, debugging, and ongoing support to maintain optimal performance
  • Maintain accurate technical documentation, including program changes, drive settings, and troubleshooting reports
  • Collaborate with cross-functional engineering teams to deploy automation solutions that meet safety and compliance requirements
  • Work with automation components, electromechanical systems, and pneumatics
  • Utilize industrial networking protocols such as TCP/UDP, ProfiBUS, and ProfiNET
  • Prepare and execute automated software tests to validate control logic and system performance


Qualifications:

  • Minimum 3 years of PLC programming experience, with emphasis on Siemens TIA Portal
  • Proficiency with Siemens S7-1500 PLCs, HMI platforms, and motion control systems
  • Experience interpreting electrical schematics and integrating control systems
  • Knowledge of industrial networks and communication protocols
  • Experience with programming languages such as AWL, STL, KOP, or VB
  • Strong troubleshooting, problem-solving, and technical communication skills
  • Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively in team environments
  • High school diploma with relevant experience required, Bachelor’s degree in Computer Engineering, Software Engineering, or a related field preferred
