Senior Manager of Reliability

Indianapolis 160K - 195K Permanent

Job Responsibilities:

  • Lead and strengthen a technical operations function supporting manufacturing systems performance and continuity across multiple production areas.
  • Guide front-line leaders and technical personnel through coaching, prioritization, and capability development initiatives.
  • Promote a high-performance environment centered on collaboration, accountability, process ownership, and operational discipline.
  • Coordinate staffing, scheduling, and resource alignment to support evolving production demands and maintenance activities.
  • Develop onboarding pathways, technical training standards, and long-term growth plans for operational support teams.
  • Clarify organizational responsibilities and communication channels to maintain effective cross-functional execution.
  • Develop and refine structured asset care programs focused on equipment uptime, operational continuity, and lifecycle optimization.
  • Oversee maintenance planning activities for automated manufacturing and packaging technologies utilized within regulated production environments.
  • Monitor operational performance indicators related to equipment reliability, response efficiency, maintenance execution, and system availability.
  • Introduce modern reliability practices and monitoring methodologies to improve long-term equipment performance and reduce unexpected interruptions.
  • Support long-range planning efforts associated with equipment upgrades, replacement strategies, and operational scalability.
  • Act as a senior resource for resolving complex technical issues impacting production operations.
  • Facilitate structured investigations into recurring equipment concerns, operational disruptions, and process inefficiencies.
  • Partner with cross-functional stakeholders to ensure corrective actions are documented, implemented, and sustained effectively.
  • Support optimization efforts related to equipment setup, operational consistency, and manufacturing efficiency improvements.
  • Provide technical oversight for troubleshooting activities involving mechanical, electrical, automation, and integrated production systems.
  • Ensure operational activities align with internal procedures, industry standards, and applicable regulatory expectations.
  • Participate in qualification, validation, and commissioning initiatives supporting manufacturing readiness and compliance.
  • Collaborate with calibration, engineering, and quality functions to maintain operational integrity of critical systems and instruments.
  • Lead initiatives focused on reducing operational losses, improving throughput, and enhancing process consistency.
  • Encourage implementation of engineering best practices and structured risk management methodologies.
  • Support validation and process verification activities by maintaining stable and repeatable equipment performance.
  • Manage external service providers, equipment partners, and technical vendors to ensure effective support and service delivery.
  • Oversee planning activities associated with spare materials, inventory strategies, and long-term operational readiness.
  • Contribute to departmental forecasting, budgeting, and capital improvement planning initiatives.
  • Evaluate opportunities for modernization, efficiency gains, and operational capacity improvements.
  • Coordinate with procurement and supply functions regarding service agreements, replacement components, and support contracts.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in an engineering, technical, or related discipline.
  • Significant experience supporting manufacturing operations, technical services, or industrial systems within a regulated environment.
  • Prior leadership experience directing technical teams or operational support functions.
  • Hands-on experience overseeing structured maintenance and equipment support programs.
  • Familiarity with automated production technologies and highly controlled manufacturing environments.
  • Experience utilizing enterprise maintenance or asset management platforms.
