Maintenance Technician

Indianapolis $30 - $40/ hr Permanent

Responsibilities:

  • Perform scheduled mechanical and electrical maintenance on automated production equipment in accordance with the maintenance plan and technical leadership directives.
  • Respond to equipment malfunctions during the shift, diagnosing and resolving breakdowns efficiently to reduce downtime.
  • Work in ISO-classified cleanroom environments when addressing machine-related issues.
  • Support the setup and start-up of production lines, including configuration of automated inspection systems.
  • Collaborate closely with production teams to ensure equipment readiness and line efficiency at shift start.
  • Accurately log maintenance activities, including breakdown start and end times, using electronic maintenance systems and standardized forms.
  • Report any equipment or process deviations related to safety, quality, or performance.
  • Participate in ongoing process improvement efforts, working collaboratively with internal teams and external equipment providers to enhance equipment reliability and efficiency.
  • Maintain consistent and effective communication with key departments, including Operations, Quality, Supply Chain, and Technical Maintenance.
  • Support shift handovers by reporting maintenance activity and equipment status.
  • Follow all safety protocols and contribute to a culture focused on injury prevention and workplace safety.
  • Wear required personal protective equipment (PPE), including cleanroom garments, gloves, safety glasses, and hearing protection.
  • Adhere to cleanroom protocols in ISO 5, 7, and 8 classified environments.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • Associate degree or technical certification in a relevant field preferred.
  • Minimum 3–5 years of maintenance experience in a cleanroom or regulated manufacturing environment.
  • Experience with electrical systems and/or prior work as an industrial electrician is an advantage.
  • Experience with PLCs, HMIs, and robotic systems preferred.
  • Capable of troubleshooting both mechanical and electrical systems.
  • Ability to stand, walk, bend, and lift to 20 lbs throughout an 8-hour shift.
  • Must meet visual inspection requirements (corrected or uncorrected 20/20 vision).
  • Ability to wear full cleanroom PPE and work in ISO 5/7 environments for extended periods.
