Responsibilities
Ensure facility mechanical and HVAC systems are designed and installed to meet operational requirements, safety standards, and applicable regulatory guidelines, including cGMP and relevant codes.
Lead or support capital and continuous improvement projects from concept through execution, aligning scope, budget, and schedule.
Develop conceptual and detailed designs for facility mechanical systems using internal and external resources.
Perform design reviews, evaluate technical submittals, document revisions, and track overall design progress.
Communicate project status, risks, and resolutions to stakeholders.
Coordinate with procurement to obtain proposals, select vendors/contractors, manage purchase requisitions, review submittals, and ensure timely delivery of materials and services.
Direct and coordinate contracted personnel during installation and startup while maintaining safe and quality work practices.
Assist maintenance teams in developing operating procedures, preventive maintenance plans, replacement strategies, and spare parts programs.
Provide troubleshooting and repair strategies for facility equipment and utility systems.
Support commissioning and qualification activities to ensure compliant installation and documentation.
Maintain controlled facility and system drawings and documentation.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or equivalent combination of education and experience
5–8+ years of experience in facility engineering, construction, or design engineering
Experience working with mechanical utility systems such as HVAC, chilled water, steam, heating hot water, humidification/dehumidification, and building automation controls
Knowledge of controlled environment systems including air pressurization and HEPA filtration
Understanding of regulated manufacturing environments and cGMP practices preferred
Strong communication, organization, and cross-functional collaboration skills
Experience working within project teams and coordinating multiple stakeholders
Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Project)
