Laboratory Associate

Indianapolis $17 - $20/HR Contract

Responsibilities:

  • Assist in the preparation, setup, and maintenance of laboratory equipment, instruments, and supplies, ensuring they are ready for daily experiments and tests.
  • Perform routine laboratory tests and experiments, following standard procedures and protocols, while accurately documenting all results and observations in lab notebooks or digital systems.
  • Troubleshoot and assist with the calibration and maintenance of laboratory equipment, diagnosing and resolving technical issues promptly to minimize disruptions to ongoing experiments.
  • Collaborate with senior lab staff in the preparation and execution of research projects, providing support in data collection, analysis, and interpretation.
  • Adhere to and enforce established safety protocols, including proper handling of chemicals, disposal of hazardous materials, and use of personal protective equipment (PPE).

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Biology, Chemistry, Biochemistry, or a related scientific field, with a strong foundation in laboratory techniques and scientific principles.
  • Previous experience working in a laboratory setting.
  • Familiarity with laboratory safety procedures and proper handling of chemicals, biological materials, and lab equipment.
  • Ability to follow complex instructions and work independently or as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
