Entomology Lab Technician

Job Responsibilities:

• Collaborate with researchers and contribute to the design and implementation of experiments related to entomology and nematology.
• Monitor and record environmental conditions in laboratories, greenhouses, and insectary colonies to ensure optimal conditions for experiments.
• Assist in the development and optimization of new laboratory procedures and protocols.
• Conduct literature reviews to stay updated on the latest advancements in entomology and nematology research.
• Assist in the identification and classification of insect species using microscopy and other relevant techniques.
• Participate in the maintenance and breeding of insect colonies for experimental purposes.
• Support data analysis efforts by organizing and managing experimental data.
• Contribute to the preparation of scientific publications, reports, and presentations.
• Actively engage in continuous learning and skill development to enhance expertise in entomology and nematology.
• Provide training and guidance to new laboratory personnel and interns.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Biology, Entomology and/or Nematology.
• Previous laboratory experience is preferred.
• Ability to work in various environments and stand for long periods.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to perform routine tasks with precision.
• Willingness to work with insects, plant materials, and nematodes.
• Adherence to safety and ergonomic standards.
• Ability to follow laboratory SOPs and protocols.
• Effective communication and teamwork skills.
